The CLW-SW is a 1000 Watt electronic light switch designed to mount in a standard electrical gang box. Although functional as a standalone switch, the CLW-SW delivers greatly enhanced functionality as part of a complete Crestron Home automation system. Designed to replace any standard in-wall light switch, the CLW-SW connects to Crestron'sPAC2 and PAC2M automation control systems (or any other 2-Series control system) via the Cresnet network to enable extensive automation and control capability.
The CLW-SW supports incandescent and electronic low-voltage loads up to 1000 Watts, or magnetic low-voltage and neon/cold cathode loads up to 1000VA/750 Watts. Fluorescent ballasts, high-intensity discharge lighting, and ceiling fans can also be switched. Multiple units may be ganged side-by-side along with other CLW-Series switches and dimmers or non-Crestron devices. (Note: Ganging the CLW-SW typically requires the removal of the side heat sink fin on one or both sides of the unit resulting in a derating of its load capacity; see specifications below.) CLW-Series components are available in white, black, and almond and are designed for use with decorator style faceplates (not included).
The large button on the CLW-SW allows for instant on/off control of the load, while the small button turns the load off following a preset time delay. The slide switch selects between ADJUST, PRESET, and OFF modes. PRESET mode is the normal operating mode, and ADJUST mode is used for setting the delay time. Switching to the OFF mode completely disables the switch and disconnects all power to the load. A dual purpose LED is included to verify delay time storage and serve as a beacon to make the dimmer easy to locate in the dark.
Its connection to the control system allows the functions of the CLW-SW to be controlled from touch panels, keypads, wireless remotes, and computers to support unlimited Flexibility for remote control and integration with other devices and systems in the home or office. In the event that communication with the control system is disrupted for any reason, the CLW-SW will remain operable to control the lighting circuit.
